What would your Strava look like if you did food deliveries on foot? Users on TikTok have proposed that the food delivery platform Uber Eats introduce “Uber Runner,” an option for on-foot deliveries that lets athletes log kilometres while getting paid. “If Uber Eats allowed runners to deliver food, I’d make mad money and my Strava would be 100 per cent,” said Montreal triathlete Ryoma Martin in a TikTok.

Uber Eats already offers the Uber Walker delivery method, which allows delivery partners to walk short distances to transport food on foot. This method is especially convenient in crowded cities where vehicles stuck in traffic might be moving more slowly than pedestrians; it also allows delivery partners to avoid having to lock up their bikes or find parking.
TikTok users left hilarious responses to Martin’s Uber Runner suggestion. “I’d be delivering some cold meals,” one comment read.
“I don’t want my food delivery options to be: shaken or stirred?” Another user chimed in.
Would you try Uber Running?
Sure, combining food delivery and running has its perks. Running for a paycheque would be motivating and time-saving, allowing you to work toward your fitness goals while on the clock.
The concept also has a few downsides. The chances of injury increase–whether from awkward running form (because carrying something or wearing a backpack while running is never comfortable) or from an unfortunate mishap like spilling hot soup or scalding coffee all over yourself.
There’s also a high probability that the food won’t arrive in top condition. A bumpy run might jostle things around, or you might even have an off day and run so slowly that the food is ice-cold by the time you get there. On a hot day, there’s also a risk of dripping sweat all over the delivery package. Worst of all? You might get hungry mid-run and end up eating the order yourself.
