Sending your little one back with an anesthesiologist is so painful. I’m glad I didn’t eat before surgery either because I was ill with nerves, especially after everything Brooke went through post-surgery last year.
Beck did amazing and was only away for about 30 minutes. The nurses all fell in love with him, and he was thrilled to have control of the remote for the first time in his entire life (a consequence of being the youngest;).

Dr. Justin D Hill has done both sets of Beck’s ear tubes, and I cannot say enough good about him. If you are in Utah, and need an ENT, he is worth ANY drive. I am so grateful for people who choose to work in healthcare. I still often think of Brooke’s nurses and doctors from last year. And Beck had such amazing people taking care of him yesterday. I am indebted to them all because they truly make life so much better. Thank you, healthcare workers!
We stopped for a toy he had been wanting for a while on the way home.

He truly recovered like a champ. You wouldn’t have guessed he had the morning he did if you didn’t know, he was as busy as ever.

My sweet friend, Tracy, brought over bread and soup from Harmons. If you are in Utah, please go get soup at Harmons today, I had no idea it was this good!

Now, let’s share a few tangents today!
*He loves to find France on any and every map that he can:

*Brooke’s grandma sent me this photo to look forward to:

*I will never know why my brain didn’t realize how long my 31k would take when I was signing up for it… The snow better melt here asap so I can practice in our mountains. I was thinking the race would take me 2-3 hours MAX. These are the top performances on the course:

*I know I brag a lot about Utah, but now I’m really never leaving… My friend recommended a foot massage place, and my life has changed. They even gave me a heated eye mask.

*For the surgery, I woke up at the time that I used to for runs… Ever since my injury, I have not come anywhere close to those early early mornings, and I felt it. I legit thought about all of you that are getting out on the roads to run way before the sun comes up. I am so impressed by you. That is so hard.
*I set one New Year’s Resolution this year, which was not to hit our out-of-pocket maximum with insurance, but we hit it yesterday. It was worth every single penny to get Beck feeling better. Now, we’re off to get everything else we need done for the next nine months.
*Brooke and Skye sent Beck with this bunny stuffed animal, and he told all of the nurses that his sisters had told him to snuggle it the entire time. (Thank you for letting me tell you everything)

*My kids love these.

*Back in college, I used to longboard down the canyon all of the time until I crashed pretty badly one time. I haven’t gotten back on one until now… but I probably shouldn’t, should I?

*My #1 tried and true running shorts are 40% off. RUN to get these with their amazing pockets and the best fabric. Size down one size!
