Did I run a marathon?

Saturday started with a run with Andrew in my favorite place to run… I love St. George running. The lower elevation, the temperatures, the sunrises, the quiet streets in the mornings, and the 74 (!!!) miles of bike paths that St. George has make it my #1.

A weekend soccer tournament with two children participating in multiple games has made my body and brain feel like I’ve run a marathon. This may even take longer to recover from than a marathon. I try to be a quiet parent on the sidelines, but I was once a cheerleader and was born a cheerleader, so yelling (positive things:) and jumping up and down the whole time are just who I am.

At one of Brooke’s games, there was a food truck on one side of the field, and we accidentally stumbled upon the best breakfast burritos we have ever had.

Beck and Skye opted to stay at my brother’s house and play non-stop with their cousins so all of our attention was on the games.

And fueling. If you go to St. George, Farmstead is a must.

Yep, more cheesecake.

I love it when the kid’s teams and their families start feeling like one big family, and everyone wants to spend more time together than we already are for games and practices.

Knox and Brooke played so hard for so many games. I don’t know how they do it.

Brooke was like this after her last game for quite some time.

Leave it to St. George to add ANOTHER thing to do that gets people outside and moving. There was a race on these a few weeks ago (like a last-man standing situation), and I am very sad I missed it with all of my Stairmaster usages lately at the gym.

333 stairs! They are lighted, too, making it so fun to do at night underneath all the gorgeous stars.

Skye was upset we eventually had to leave… she did it 5.5 times and said she could do it 10 more times. My mom used to call me the energizer bunny and I’m positive that Skye has taken over that title now.

The kids also got some of their wiggles out at the Thunder Junction park… Aka a park that is free but feels like you should have to pay to use.

We are ready for you, summer.

Do you notice a difference when running somewhere higher or lower in elevation than what you are used to?

-Always… maybe it’s placebo, maybe it’s not but I always notice.

Anything recently that you have done outside of running that has completely exhausted you?

Anything in your area that they have made to get people out and active?

What was the best thing you ate over the weekend?
