Introduction

RehaDesign’s New Retro-reflective stickers “Wheelchair Skins” combine fashion and safety; exclusive U.S. distribution through I-Wheel

Main Item

RehaDesign, a pioneer in fun and functional wheelchair accessories, proudly announces the launch of its newest innovation: Wheelchair Skins. These retro-reflective stickers are designed not only to elevate the appearance of wheelchairs but also to enhance nighttime safety for users.

“Wheelchair Skins may seem like a simple product, but it took three years to develop,” said Dr. Eugene Emmer, founder and owner of RehaDesign. “To my knowledge, this is the first product of its kind made specifically for wheelchairs. Like all RehaDesign products, Wheelchair Skins are beautifully designed and practical. The retro-reflective material reflects light back to its source, which significantly improves visibility and safety for wheelchair users.”

Developed in collaboration with an international team of wheelchair users, Wheelchair Skins are available in two flexible formats: a long rectangular version for wheelchair frames and a large rectangular version that can be cut to customize canes, laptop cases, mud guards, and more.

The wheelchair’s front tubes are decorated with colorful, zebra-stripe patterned retro-reflective stickers that shift from pink and red at the bottom to orange and yellow at the top, creating a gradient effect. The frame of the wheelchair itself is a deep red, while the seat and backrest are black with red accents. The wheels are standard large rear wheels and small front caster wheels, all designed for maneuverability. The floor is a light-colored wood, and the background is a plain wall, emphasizing the wheelchair’s bold, decorative elements.

At launch, two animal-inspired styles will be available – Zebra Skins and Leopard Skins – with a heart-themed design following soon after. Wheelchair Skins are offered in nine vibrant colors, including a eye catching multicolor option. The color palette is intentionally matched with RehaDesign’s other colorful products such as the Ultra-Grrrip Pushrim Covers, Seksi Spokes, and Wheels on Fire spoke reflectors.

“We are thrilled to bring Wheelchair Skins to the U.S. market!” said Delphine Venitucci, founder of I-WHEEL. “This product is a perfect example of how mobility aids can be both expressive and empowering. It’s about more than safety – it’s about identity and joy. Plus, Wheelchair Skins pair perfectly with our pushrim covers, giving users an easy and colorful way to completely customize their ride.”

With the launch of Wheelchair Skins, RehaDesign takes a bold step toward its vision of helping wheelchair users around the world personalize and celebrate their mobility.
